Car Seat safety, will your child put up a stink?

So they're at it again..."They" say that your child should be at least 2 years if not older before they ride facing forward in the car seat. OF COURSE we all want to do what is best to keep our little people safe from harms way. And how ironic that I recently just turned my 20 mo. old daughter forward?! Previously I had read from some other source that its best to keep the little ones in their seats for as long as possible and up to the max weight and height for the specific car seat. Having to move around the seats from car to car, we chose to switcheroo her from facing back to front. But now, to do so again might really be the start of WW III. Safety is a non-negotiable in our house. Raised with the standard, "I'm not leaving this driveway until all seat belts are fastened" we have begun the same discussion in our car. However, I am not looking forward to the short term struggle I am sure my d.d. is going to give, and she will not go without a fight.  For more information, follow this link:

disinfecting?

Try putting a wet sponge into the micro for 2 minutes and ta-dah! one, sanitized sponge!!

Recall notice!

Yet another recall notice has been announced, this time its from Summer Infant. One of our FAVORITE items on "the list!" The Summer handheld Day & Night video monitor has been recalled due to the extra long length of the cords for both the camera and the handheld monitor. Call 800-426-8627 and they can send you a kit to amend your product. And parents, a little common sense here... do not place the video with its long cord, anywhere NEAR where your child who can grab at it and then do something awful with it. I had ours mounted on the wall above the crib and realized that that was a not so smart location. Its now moved and I wrapped the cord around so there is no slack. Keep it safe people!

check out the ever growing list...

I made an addition to "the list"... check it out!

Question: If you've had the chicken pox vaccine, how often do you have to get boosters? Is this a process to be repeated over the course of ones lifetime? Anyone?

Compiling THE List... Goodies for new parents

I am going to be adding items to "the list" over time. Be sure to check back to see what new and exciting items have been added. Have something to suggest? Let's hear it!

time after time

I think we have lots to talk about...  chasing after my 3 year old son and an 18 month old daughter, trying to school my 3 year old only to be schooled by him. my people keep me busy, but of course, i wouldn't have it any other way. the purpose, to sing the praises of the goodies we can't live with or without in your life... and other stuffs. meaning, quick fixes and dishes and anything in between. i want to hear about your essentials too.

Chicken Pox

Ok, so my dad gets shingles. Poor dad. Two weeks later, my husband notices some small, red spots on my 3 y.o. son's neck and back. A few hours later, a few more spots. And they keep coming...and coming...and here we go. CHICKEN POX! Yikes!? Now what?
