"The List" - Goodies for new parents

  1. Patemm Pad. Yes, there are many changing pads out there and yes, many deluxe diaper bags come with their own version of a changing pad but people, I tell you, THIS is it. This is THE ONE. Check 'em out and give 'em some love. Not only is this super-duper, its super smart. It is large giving your little people ample room for wiggles all the while protecting them from dirty changing surfaces. It folds up into a compact square complete with a handle to carry, and it has pockets on the inside! Many pockets and of adequate size to hold wipes, diapers, ointment, sanitizer and more. Give Patemm some love and get one for your favorite parent. www.patemm.com
  2. Nursing cover. Yep. Any breastfeeding mama should have one of these goodies around. Its great for a little extra privacy if your so inclined. It's great for the days when you aren't wearing a nursing top and its also great for distracted nursers. I've used mine when I had to pump but didn't have a private room to go to...although it won't block the nnn-ch, nnn-ch, nnn-ch, nnn-ch sound of the pump but it keeps things well hidden. and that's a sight that even iron eyes have a hard time digesting. There are many options available at various price points, but if you are even slightly sewing inclined, you should check out this sight for step by step directions to make your own. There are beautiful prints and patterns available at your local fabric shop and its really easy to do! I found a great pattern at LittleBirdieSecrets.blogspot.com.
  3. Pacifier clips. If your wee one ever takes to the paci, this item is a must have. I'm going to see if I can come across either a pattern to share, or a link where to purchase. Saved many a paci from the grime of the ground and other nasties.
  4. Summer Infant Night & Day handheld video monitor. Yes, you NEED the video element. I can't even begin to tell you how many wonderful evening my husband and I had in front of that monitor. We often joked about dropping our cable subscription because of the fun times we had watching our children play in their cribs. So entertaining!!
  5. Sling. It is a MUST HAVE for us. When my 1st was born, we used a Hug-a-bub wrap. It's the perfect way to keep your wee one close to you and away from prying peeps. Newborns are absolutely amazing and adorable, but  they are not meant for strangers to be touching!! As we progressed, we moved on to a ring sling and we also use the Ergo. Both serve the same purpose but in slightly different ways. Check 'em out and tell me your favorite way to wear your babe.
